It's called capitalism. I have no sympathy with anyone promising their 5 yr old a games console – what is that all about. Like you object to people taking advantage of market demand and low supply, I am sure there are as many people who object more to parents who provide their children with such lavish gifts at the age of 5 yrs. That in itself if a sign of a vibrant capitalist state – remember the price on ebay is that price due to demand driving it up, people clearly do have the money to pay these prices. But because you can't you cry foul. Anyway wishing to lavish £200 on their 5 yr old is already not in touch with reality and that would sicken many parents.
Get a life and think about what your actions are already teaching your child.
Why are you selling it for such a low price? You could get another 200 to 300 dollars with all that stuff.
I am waiting to buy the wii at $250. Possibly a game so about 300 total. I mean test it out first, who knows you may not like it. But buying a bundle is extreme when they are being quoted at $1100. Start small!
The straight answer on this topic is simple. All three major console makers play this same game. Shortage on release creates tremendous hype for the product. This in turn creates more demand for the product, thus making the product sell well at the original M.S.R.P. for 18-26 months, before the manufacturers need to drop the price for continued sales until the next generation consoles are on the horizon.
This is the Real answer. Any other is BS. I formerly worked in the industry.
I ordered mine a little bit ago and everything was absolutely free..shipping and everything…not a cent spent
Go to http://linkachi.com/?u3 , type in your Zip Code, and it'll tell you what stores in your area are getting the Wii and approx when

Yes it comes with Wii sports which is a nice introduction to the system that the whole family can enjoy. It will suffice for a little while, but if you want to keep the family preoccupied with some more enjoyment over the holidays, I recommend getting another game.
As for additional games, I recommend the following:
-Super Mario Galaxy
-Super Smash Bros. Brawl,
-The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
-Mario Kart Wii
-WarioWare: Smooth Moves
All the games mentioned above are multiplayer games that everyone can enjoy with the exception of Legend of Zelda which is a 1 person adventure game (nevertheless, a great game!)
My choice would be Mario Kart Wii. The game will retail for about $50 at Bestbuy and it includes a Wii Wheel. You would have to purchase a 2nd Wii Wheel which retails for about $15. Essentially its just a steering wheel but a real "must" for Mario Kart. The game can be enjoyed by anyone and I'm certain it will be a treat for you and the family.
The user above mentioned that the games are "pricey," Do note that Wii games are on average $10 cheaper than games on rival consoles – Sony Playstation 3 and XBOX 360.
I also provided a link below to a reputable gaming site to help with any decision making process that lists the top games for the Wii .
Best of luck!
Don't worry about a "sale", chances are you aren't going to see a decreased price on the Wii for a long time. However, they may hold some until that weekend to have on stock. Advice: if she sees one, get it, waiting for a sale would be a waste. Good luck.
